Thank you for visiting Social.Org. While Insecure.Com LLC runs many other web sites (Insecure.Org, Nmap.Org, SecLists.Org, SecTools.Org, etc.), we have not yet developed this one.

Given the June 2011 sale of Social.Com for US$2,600,000 and the sky-high valuations of social networking companies (e.g. $100 billion for Facebook), we receive many inquiries about this domain name.

Social.Org is an extremely powerful name, combining the enormously popular “social” keyword with the “Org” extension that is commonly used by community/social/participatory sites like Wikipedia.Org, Craigslist.Org, WordPress.Org, and Google's OpenSocial.Org.

While we love this domain name, our focus is on network security and open source development, so we would consider selling Social.Org to someone more likely to develop its full potential. The sort of companies that might be interested include social networking players like Facebook, Twitter, Google, or LinkedIn; community/deal sites like LivingSocial; dating sites; social media sites; or even a new, disruptive startup!

To address the dozens of people who have written to ask for our “price”, we'll note the rule of thumb that org sites often sell for about 10% of the .com sale amount.
